Activities
100+ Classic/Vintage Cars
Our Transport show is certainly a sight to be seen. We have well over 100 vehicles exhibiting every year. Everyone loves an old vehicle or engine! Each year we have a fantastic show of vintage and classic cars, vintage tractors, as well as operating stationary engines. You can also see classic and vintage motorbikes and often even Ex-Military vehicles.
Most of the vehicles on display can be seen up close, but for safety reasons our stationary engine display is behind protective barriers.
What makes our show so very special, it does not matter if you're not a lover of vehicles, and the smell of old engines, there's always plenty to see.
If you own a vintage or classic vehicle, car , tractor or stationary engine we would love you to bring it along!

Alpaca Trecking
The alpaca is a species of South American camelid mammal. It is similar to and often confused with the llama. However, alpacas are often noticeably smaller than llamas. Come and say hello to the event Alpacas! And if you're feeling adventurous, why not take one for a walk?
Shire Horses
If you love animals our Shire Horse display is a sight well worth seeing. Telling a story of times long since passed, when horses were the main method of working with mechanised farming and moving freight from one place to another.
Tractor Show
Sandon Fete & Transport Show is saving the past for the future. Our Tractor Show is an excellent opportunity to see vintage and classic heritage tractors, have a get-together with fellow enthusiasts and visitors, celebrate their historic farming past, and look forward to many more. Tractors formed food production in Britain as we know it, with earlier examples dating back to the First World War. Most of the tractors that attend our show are from the 1950s through to the 1980s.
Heritage Military Vehicles
We certainly have something to see if you are looking for something different. Our Heritage Ex Military vehicles and displays take you back to another Era. From large recovery lorries to smaller jeeps, you might find it at the Sandon Fete & Transport Show if it's green. Some of the larger vehicles we attract are so heavy we can't accommodate them on the show field, so keep your eyes peeled under the trees on Station Lane, as there's usually some hiding down there!
Vintage Lorries
Our vintage lorry heritage collection was the backbone of Britain from the 1920s through to the 1960s. Some of our show vintage lorries carried goods to local towns and made deliveries to private houses, including coal, timber, household goods, and many more items. Mainly diesel powered with some earlier examples running on Petrol and TVO.
Archery
Is Archery as easy as it looks? we honestly don't know! Cover and try your hand with a bow and arrow!
Here's some advice to help you prepare-
To help you know what to expect, let's cover a few things first.
When you're coming to shoot with us:
Please wear suitable closed toe shoes (i.e. not sandals/crocs); ideally water resistant when outdoors as to avoid soggy socks.
It is worth avoiding overly baggy clothing, as it may get in the way of the bowstring, but there is otherwise no need for specific sportswear; wear whatever you're comfortable in.
Long hair should be tied back.
Any piercings that may get snagged by the bowstring (such as nose piercings) should be covered or taken out.
If you are feeling unwell or have injuries that would prevent you from shooting safely

Historic Displays
Our static historic displays vary from year to year, but are usually historic in nature and often feature heritage or Ex Military displays. * Subject to weather conditions.
Bike Show
The show motorbikes are polished to a mirror shine and ready for display. You can often find a range of different motorbikes from different eras.
The Honda Gold Wing touring motorbike is Honda's flagship motorcycle for a reason. Its classic design offers riders a smooth performance and luxury feel, which has gained the bike a massive following ever since its first release in 1974. Most of the bike's followers are located in the United States.
The famous motorbikes have a maximum engine cubic capacity of 1,833cc. They have featured in films such as Police Academy, and the series of touring motorbikes has sold more than 640,000 over the years, with new models released since 1974.

Mini Circus
Our Mini Circus is very popular with both adults and children. You may never get to participate in a full-size Circus, but you can try our Mini version at Sandon Fete! Walk the tightrope, ride the unicycle, dress up as a clown, try Balloon Modelling, and even see some juggling and magic. There is something for everyone at our Mini Circus.
Flower Stalls
What can be nicer on a hot summer than the smell of fresh-cut flowers? Whether you're cheering up your living room or giving them as a gift to someone special, why not follow the scent to our freshly cut flower stands?
I just love a FUSS!
What's cute and cuddly and loves a fuss? well that description could fit a few of the Fete's Furry friends. But why not come and give one a cuddle, you will be sure of a great welcome!
Plant Stalls
The plant stall is another stand that has been around for as long as the fetes themselves, but its popularity never wanes.
This is especially true since the resurgence of home-grown fruit and vegetables since the pandemic, when we all re-discovered our green fingers. It’s a popular one for those interested in sustainability, those who are already keen gardeners, and those who love a bargain. Our plant stalls have a fantastic variety of potted plants and small shrubs. We have even been known to have the odd potted Christmas tree!

Cake Stall
Let’s kick off with the most popular stall of all. If you haven’t got a cake stall, can you call it a fete? Well… we don’t think you can! The tradition of a cake stall at local Fetes started in the Victorian period and we are trying to maintain as many of the traditional stalls as we possibly can. Just thinking of those delicious butterfly buns, Victoria sandwiches, cherry Bakewell, and fruit loaves makes our mouths water and our homemade cake stall draws a crowd.
Children's Games
They say age doesn't matter—well, it certainly doesn't matter at our show! Our younger visitors love our custom face painting. Ran by Mumbles Nursery in Sandon village, you choose the design, and we will paint you to match!
If you're not quite as young as you used to be .. It doesnt matter; we can still paint you as well!
Choose from a large range of vibrant and colourful paints suitable for all ages. We use only the highest quality paints, which you can remove at any time.
Mumbles also operate our Hook 'A' Duck game and other things suitable for children.

Meet the Show Ferrets!
We have loads of new attractions for this year's event. If you love animals, then we have something different for you. What's cute, furry, cuddly, and has a long tail? The Sandon Fete Ferrets!
Unusual Characters!
Have you met Dino the Dinosaur or Billy the Bear? We have some amiable characters to entertain our younger visitors. You can often find them wandering around on the show field looking for something to eat or getting into mischief! Kids say Hi! *Characters will only be in attendance if the weather conditions permit.
Unusual Animals!
Everyone loves an unusual animal, and we usually have some extraordinary sights to see: Tortoises, Lizards, Snakes, and even stranger-looking reptiles. You can work out what they are! Some of our unusual animals can sometimes be held or petted, but this depends on suitability, so please enquire about the stand. *Animals will only be in attendance if the weather conditions permit.
Fairground Rides
Our younger visitors can enjoy our range of Fairground Rides. We alternate them each year where possible. Typical rides vary each year but they may include; helta skeltar, roundabouts, tea cups, and a bouncing castle to mention just a few.
Our rides, keep the children (and sometimes adults!) entertained for hours on end!
Some rides have age and height restrictions which are published at the show adjacent to the ride.
Donkey rides are available for young children, subject to suitable weather conditions.
All rides are subject to availability.

Live Entertainment
Whatever you are looking for in traditional entertainment we have something for all ages. Typical attractions vary each year to keep the show different. We favour traditional entertainment such as Morris Dancers, Brass bands, Animal petting and horse demonstrations. Any entertainment we advertise is of course subject to suitable British weather!
If your legs are feeling a bit weary you could always end the day with a cool drink from our bar area, whilst watching the show pass by.

Show Inflatables
Inflatable castles (also called bounce houses, bouncing houses, jumpy houses, bouncing castles, bouncy houses, jumping castles, jumpers, jolly jumps, bouncy castles,) are temporary inflatable structures and buildings and similar items. Our show usually features at least two Inflatables (subject to suitable weather conditions), one being the traditional Fete Bouncing Castle and often our Inflatable slide. Inflatable castles have been suggested as having some therapeutic value for children with specific sensory impairments, similar to ball pits, as well as being great fun!
Old-Time Pick 'N' Mix
Who remembers walking down the high street and calling into a local shop that is sadly no longer with us? Well, maybe that might have been you as a child. So here is a bit of nostalgia: our traditional sweet stall with Pick ‘N’ Mix sweets being sold by the weight in a bag. We are not sure they are diet-friendly, but they sure taste delicious!
Stationary Engines
A stationary engine is an engine whose framework does not move. They are used to drive immobile equipment, such as pumps, generators, mills, or farm machinery, which were some of their more common original uses.
Stationary engines were once widespread in the UK, when each factory or mill generated its own power, and power transmission was mechanical (via line shafts, belts, gear trains, and clutches). Applications for stationary engines have declined since electrification has become widespread; most industrial uses today draw electricity from an electrical grid and distribute it to various individual electric motors instead. Walking towards our show engines, you will hear the sound of the old “PUT PUT PUT POP,” and you may be from a decade which remembers the old engines with fine affection.
